International Business Group (IBG)

IBG, is a specialised and focusedgroup, operating within Eurojuris International, made up of eighteen business law firms with an internationalclient base. IBG law firms deal principally with provision of legal services involving cross-border relations and transactions.

Session activity: Internal organisation and planning

 

Ibero-Francophone law

Chaired by Patricia Roy Thermes

 

The Ibero- Francophone group gathers lawyers from the Iberic Peninsula (Spain, Portugal) and totally or partly Francophone countries (France,Belgium, Switzerland). Neighbours' legal systems are compared in the Group's meetings to provide members with preliminary knowledge of the other colleague's legal system, which makes communication fast and efficient. The working languages areFrench and Spanish, these two languages must bespoken or understood.

Session theme: Subcontracting in construction.Catherine COTSAKI will present the construction lawin Greece, Christian ROUSSE from Marseille, which is aspecialist in this theme, will present the subcontractingin France.

 

Law Firm’s Management and quality training session

The workshop sessions are dedicated to every Eurojuris member who wishes to improve daily firm practice and exchange experiences.   

Session theme: Clients expectation, requirements and satisfaction and their impact on law firm practice (for instance invoicing

 

Energy and Environment law

The energy and environment law group is conscious that, the lawyer of the XXI century who dedicates himself to the Environment law is aware that the action must be local in order to produce global effects.

Real Estate law 

Chaired by Niels Eriksen

 

The Real estate group provides members with specific real estate law advice, assistance and representation when required in relation to matters falling out of their own jurisdiction. It is also anticipated that the Group aims to provide advice to business clients on how to avoid problems by investing in foreign countries. This year those two groups will work together on the renewal energy power issue.

Corporate Law

The Corporate Group focuses on International and national issues relating to transactions, establishment of subsidiaries and general company law. We try to highlight and compare legal and cultural differences to make group members prepared for foreign environments and tactics, as well as giving all members regular opportunities to present themselves or to have regular group sessions or team work to increase our knowledge of each other both on a private and professional level.

The International tax law group has discusstions on changes of tax legislations in the particular countries, cross border tax planning ideas, transfer pricing issues and EU tax law

Employment Law

The creation and follow up of the subsidiary companies abroad, the industrial and commercial partnerships with their competitors, clients or suppliers mean for those companies social incidences in their development. Every detachment of an employee abroad can't be done without respecting european and local law. This practice Group is a response to the growing demand of advice and assistance in employment law

Family, Inheritance and Succession law

One of the main aims of the Family law group is to be of assistance to fellow professionals with cross border issues in the field of family law, to exchange information and advise in respect of  family law and enforcement in other jurisdictions and to raise awareness of family law issues common to family practitioners within Europe.

Insolvency and Banking Law

The aims of the PG Insolvency law are international information and exchange of ideas about Insolvency-law-systems and proceedings between Eurojuris-members who are experts practising in this field. The PG should be a platform to speak and discuss about recent developments of national an EC law, personal experiences of each member and furthermore to build a basis for international cooperation.

Intellectual Property Law

Various legal aspects on GoggleThe IP group try to focus on legal questions that can be useful for the members in their everyday practice. The members are active in the meetings and the discussions are often very fruitful. The objectives are to increase the knowledge on various legal questions and to network with the members.  
Session themes:  "Google Adwords" by Arnout de Hamer, presentation of pending case concerning Google Adwords/trademark infringement by Jörg Steinschnack, " Streetview, Google beyond  Europes legislation" by Tim Becker and "Google Books" by Francois Herpe.

International Litigation and ADR

The International Litigation Group is a group of lawyers who specialise in commercial dispute resolution where there is a cross-border element. The group aims to improve our members' knowledge of how best to deal with cross-border cases.
Session theme: The impact of the financial crisis on contracts and disputes

International Trade Transport & Insurance Law 

Co-Chaired by Bram Marcus and John Wolfs


Having started as PG Transport and Insurance our PG is renamed this year into International Trade, Transport and Insurance law. Developments in these areas and other adjoining areas are discussed within the PG. At least once a year a questionnaire is filled out by the members on a particular topic, in the past being general terms and conditions as well as arrest to be found on www.eurojuris.net. The objective of the PG is as usual sharing knowledge, but also focusing more and more on cross-border commercial cooperation with other PG-members.
